Brief Introduction

CITIC Dameng Mining Industries Ltd(CITIC Dameng), with 13 branch companies or majority-ownede subsidiaries and 4500 employees, was established in August，2005. Its registered capital is 500 million yuan. And it is honored as one of the “top-10 enterprises” of Guangxi.

CITIC Dameng dominates the biggest manganese mine in China, which is 22% of the total reserves of Chinese manganese resource, and it also owns overseas manganese resource base with high manganese ore. CITIC Dameng mainly engages in manganese mine exploitation and manganese ore deep-processing. Production of its key products has been proved by national industry access system and has been authenticated by ISO international quality control system, and it becomes the important global supplier of manganese products. Furthermore, it is one of main participants who draft out and authorize the national quality standard of electrolytic manganese metal, natural discharge manganese dioxide and chemical manganese powder.

CITIC Dameng insists in the strategy of sustainable development, by Strengthening the scientifically utilization， reasonably exploiting and effectively protecting of manganese resource. CITIC Dameng has been actively advancing the project construction and independent innovation and it is elected as national advanced mine enterprise of reasonable exploitation and utilization of manganese resource by the Ministry of Land and Resources; its cooperant project with Changsha Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, “The invention of generalized separating space wet-type permanent magnetic separator and manganese carbonate industrial experiment of Daxin manganese mine”, won the first prize for National Science and Technology Progresses of Metallurgy and Mine. In April, 2008, its two cooperant subjects with Chongqing university, “the development of high-performance electrolytic manganese dioxide for mercuryless alkali manganese battery” and “the development of thermal energy recover type microwave reduction roasting of manganese oxide”, have been examined and approved by The Ministry of Science and Technology, and were formally listed in the Hi-Tech Research and Development Program (863 Program). Citic dameng was designated as “the engineering technology research center for guangxi manganese industry” and the first member of  industrial base at the provincial level in Guangxi——the only development unit of Guangxi manganese industry industrialization base.

Exploiting the advantages of CITIC’s international operation and Guangxi’s abundant mineral resource, CITIC Dameng pays high attention to both products extending and industry expanding. According to the strategic thinking of CITIC Group, “to become international top-ranking giant enterprise group with sharp comprehensive superiority, certain advanced fields and core competitive power”, it has been pushing on the strategy of “based on manganese industry and developing chrome and nickel business”. By developing several new programs, such as electrolytic manganese dioxide, electrolytic manganese metal, manganese sulfate, lithium manganate, trimanganese-tetroxide, ferrochrome alloy, ferro-nicke alloy and so on. It is anticipated that CITIC Dameng’s industrial output and sales income will both get a breakthrough at 10 billion yuan per year by the end of “National 11th five-year plan”, and it will become a company group with huge influence covering manganese, chrome and nickel industries at home and abroad.
